Awards have become an annual highlight in the British fashion calendar. The British Fashion Awards in particular are in top spot. There’s something about trophies that warm the cockles of people’s hearts, or maybe they sometimes burn them out. Perhaps it’s to do with celebrating zeitgeist, as well as talent. TIME FOR CHANGE
It’s no secret that London girls wear black. Black is so practical for the tube, the weather, the work dress code. It’s so flattering on so many – not all, but even those who won’t admit it’s not their best shade, mix it in. Black can make most other things work, black included. No need to change – if it ain’t broke, why fix it? But when it comes to colour, the story is quite a different one. It’s harder. More noticeable. Less anonymous. More, well, colourful. Which is
